New advice on Cyber Security – password management

Posted on

What percentage of your calls to IT are in relation to a forgotten password? In our experience a lot of the support tickets raised by company employees are simple password reset requests from staff requiring access to their software and systems.

The delicate balance between IT security and end user experience has, at times, meant that password management has become an onerous task.  Thankfully, with new guidance emerging from the UK and US Government Cyber Security departments and Microsoft, forgotten password calls may be a thing of the past.

See below for a useful comparison between the current situation and the new guidance for password management in your company:

resolution

The new guidance is designed to make things easier for the end user whilst retaining the core element of IT security.  IT teams will be rejoicing in this new approach as it frees them up to focus on developing systems and processes in support of the business, not just helping staff log-in!

How does your company do things when it comes to password management? Are you still adopting the “current” approach, or have you already moved over to the new, more user friendly method?  At Dynamic Edge our team have decades of IT security experience – get in touch if you would like us to perform an audit on your security processes and systems, or train your staff on the new guidance.

How can a Managed IT service help your business?

Posted on

When it comes to IT support, many companies struggle to justify a dedicated “in-house” resource and instead rely on calling on ad-hoc assistance whenever a technical problem arises.

It is surprising how many of these organisations are either unaware or misinformed of the benefits that can be achieved by using a fully-managed IT service.

Below we have listed a few of the most useful benefits of a managed IT service, and why using this tailored package from Dynamic Edge can help to save your company time and money.

A service dedicated to your business

At Dynamic Edge we like to take the time to get to know our clients. This means regular meetings, strategic discussions and ultimately a meaningful and tailored service offering that is designed to increase your business efficiency and save your company time and money. From cloud solutions to software development, our managed IT service is built around your business with one aim – to help you meet your business objectives.

Proactive monitoring

For the majority of companies, the crucial IT systems that support the business are expected to work, and for the most part, these systems are not looked at in any great detail until something goes wrong. At Dynamic Edge, our proactive monitoring service takes the admin out of assessing your tech infrastructure. Our monitoring is 24/7, “always on” and alerts our expert engineers as soon as any signs of an issue arises, meaning we can often fix the problem before it affects you and your employees.

An extension of your team and account management

Our staff can complement an existing IT team, or form an ‘outsourced’ IT department for your company. We are able to work alongside existing team members and even cover any absences that occur. Our experts have combined decades of experience and can help to bridge the skills gap when working with your technical processes and systems. Choose Dynamic Edge and we’ll take the time to get to know your business and tailor a package that’s right for you based on your existing technical architecture and levels of expertise and experience. Our account management service is dedicated to your business which ensures continuity and the opportunity to work together to identify issues and prioritise developments.

Development and innovation

At Dynamic Edge we do not sit still, and your company can and will benefit from this! The latest IT technologies are our passion, and we make it our business to ensure our managed service clients are the first to hear about new innovations in the constantly evolving digital world. From cloud solutions to virtualisation, cyber awareness training to GDPR in-a-box – if it can save you money and/or make you more efficient, we’ll be in touch ensuring you’re the first to know.
