Why should you move your IT to the cloud…?

At Dynamic Edge we have been providing IT support all over the UK for over a decade, and in that time a lot has changed in the world of technology.  Undoubtedly one of the biggest changes in this time has been the emergence of cloud technology.

If you look around at your everyday life, it is quite apparent that cloud-based technologies have a major bearing on many of the tasks you undertake day-in, day-out. Cloud has changed the way we operate by introducing modern conveniences, for example:

  • Online photo and video storage
  • TV and movie streaming services
  • Device recovery back-ups
  • Online gaming services (for example Xbox Live)

While this is fantastic for general consumers, we are always looking at ways in which cloud services can improve our clients’ business. There are too many ways to list, but here are some of our biggest reasons why you should move your company’s IT to the cloud:

It’s cheaper!

OK, the word “cheaper” is subjective based on exactly what kind of services you decide to use, but in our experience clients who migrate to the cloud save money!  Typically these savings can be achieved on things like software upgrades (such as Microsoft Office), flexibility of services and accessibility of applications on any machine with an internet connection.

Remote and efficient working

Cloud solutions by nature are accessible on the move and are device agnostic.  This means that your employees can gain access to things like instant messenger, file sharing, video conferencing and project management tools wherever they are in the world and on any connected device.  Gone are the days where the workplace was based at a fixed desk. Microsoft’s Office 365 has a fantastic application for this called Microsoft Teams, which has at the time of writing amassed over 13 million daily active users.

Data security

Companies who utilise cloud solutions will benefit from the security of automatic data back-ups. This means that even in the event of a hardware catastrophe on site, your company data can be recovered with ease from dedicated cloud-based servers.

Digital agility

Organisations who adopt cloud technologies can adapt more quickly and act more nimbly than their competitors who devote their IT resources to maintenance of physical infrastructure.

Scalability

Is your company growing fast or does it have seasonal spikes in technical infrastructure demands? Cloud infrastructure scales alongside demand to ensure your busiest time doesn’t become your most technically challenging and supports fluctuating workloads.

Is it time for your company to move into the cloud?  Dynamic Edge have integrated and supported hundreds of clients in this process.  Contact us today to discuss how we can help you too.
