Dynamic Edge face ‘Titanic’ battle in Aberdeen rowing challenge …

A Dynamic Edge team are hoping to cause a splash as part of a long-running rowing event.

David McCready, Mike Cordiner, Scott Millar and Mark Runcie have signed up to compete in the Aberdeen Inter-Company Row, which takes place on Saturday, June 28.

Organised by Aberdeen Boat Club, the race will see crews of four people from up to 40 businesses and organisations take to the River Dee. It is strictly for novices who have no prior rowing experience.

The all-day event consists of a round-robin stage in which each crew completes a minimum of three races over a 500m course. Successful crews then move on to the knock-out stages with prizes on offer for the best teams.

The team – called Titanic Edge – has been through rigorous training with the help of an experienced cox.

Managing director Stuart Winterburn, who took part in last year’s event, said: “It’s a terrific event albeit physically demanding; it takes a great deal of effort and, most importantly, teamwork to do well.

“The guys involved are learning how to work together and gel as a unit in slightly unusual surroundings away from the office. We wish them well and the entire Dynamic Edge team will be there on the day to cheer them on.”

Now in its 30th year, the Aberdeen Inter-Company Row is one of the UK’s leading corporate rowing events.
