Dynamic Edge support keeps AFC Ladies on the ball
A north-east women’s football team is targeting success on and off the field thanks to backing from innovative IT business Dynamic Edge.
A leading managed IT service specialist, Dynamic Edge is supporting Aberdeen FC Ladies through the provision of software consultancy and IT support which is enhancing day-to-day communication among players, coaches and support personnel.
The city-based company has installed an innovative solution, valued at £12,000, which has aided information sharing and collaboration on everything from training, match preparation and tactics to diet, fitness and travel arrangements. The system can be accessed quickly and remotely by both coaches and players.
Additionally, Dynamic Edge sponsors midfielder Susan Murray and has provided matchday and programme support for the team, which plays its home games at Sunnybank Football Club’s Heathryfold Park.
The team plays in the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL), which is contested by 12 teams with a split towards the end of the season. The league season is played between March and November.
Aberdeen Ladies has made a promising start to the league season. The Dons also reached the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup where they lost 2-0 to Glasgow City.
The squad, which trains three or four times a week, is targeting a successful season. And the team’s manager, Allan Smith, believes there is plenty more to come from the squad.
He said: “The team has made a bright start to the season and I’ve got faith in this group of players that we can finish higher in the league than last year’s 6th place. We know it’s going to be another tough season as the league is always very closely fought, but we’re hopeful of reaching our goals as well as performing well in the cup competitions.
“We’re delighted to receive this generous support from Dynamic Edge. The sponsorship has made a real difference to our team and helped us to become a more professional outfit. The key thing for us has been the IT set-up for the team, which has enhanced communication for all the players and coaches.”
Rob Hamilton, managing director of Dynamic Edge, said: “We’re delighted to support Aberdeen Ladies in any way we can. The team did well last season and all of us at Dynamic Edge hope that they’ll continue to be successful for years to come.”
