What is the benefit of using a hosted telephony system over a traditional telephone system?

Traditional telephone system “PBX’s” – Are generally large and costly pieces of kit to maintain in addition to all the other pieces of technology that most business have, moving to a cloud hosted solution effectively removes this kit and places the reliance onto the other critical piece of technology that every business already has – An Internet connection! This coupled with the fact that the cloud hosted solution is “in the cloud” means a business can be truly mobile and empowered to be able to work from any location.

Why should I move my servers to the cloud?

How much money did your business spend on “keeping the lights on” in terms of your on-premises servers, from hardware maintenance to electricity costs (including things like air conditioning systems for server rooms) – Moving servers to the cloud removes the reliance on this, provides an element of business continuity, opens up new avenues of growth and expansion of systems like never before. Dare I saw that “the sky is the limit” with cloud computing.

Would moving our data to the cloud leave us with less control and make us more prone to cyber attack?

Quite the opposite, in fact most cloud hosted systems have available levels of protection against cyber attacks that some organisations would never have considered a risk previously. And in the unfortunate event of a cyber attack, the recovery options available to organisations in the cloud mean that an affected business can be back up and running faster than ever before, with little to no interruptions.

Is it cheaper to use an MSP rather than manage our own IT?

In short, absolutely, working with an MSP you don’t just have 1 or 2 IT professionals working for your organisation, you have a team of highly skilled and dedicated engineers and consultants ready to assist your business in whatever your goals may be. Plus working with an MSP that has dedicated strategy based team members, an MSP can assist your business with new technologies and solutions that internal employees may never have the time to investigate fully.

Our company doesn’t rely on IT, so why should we need an IT strategy?

Well, lets take this at face value. Any organisation that purportedly “doesn’t rely on IT” is almost certainly not aware of exactly what modern IT solutions can offer them, from Email to Instant messaging, from cloud hosted telephony to online meetings, from secure and safe document storage to collaborative working – The “modern workplace” is no longer a fixed location and everything can be flexible to meet a business’s needs, having an IT strategy is not just a commitment to spend money on IT solutions, but it helps to identify a path for an organisation to make better use of technology and potentially develop their business in new ways.
